Industry Partners
Northwest Process Technology Alliance
The local industry formed Northwest Process Technology Alliance to nurture the workforce education in Process and Control Technology areas. The alliance has helped the educational programs by making cash donations, equipment donations for the labs and scholarships for the students over past four years.
Western State Petroleum Association
Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) is a non-profit trade association that represents approximately 30 companies that account for the bulk of petroleum exploration, production, refining, transportation and marketing in the six western states of Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Founded in 1907, WSPA is the oldest petroleum trade association in the United States.
WSPA has been regular contributor to the Process Technology Scholarship fund through the BTC Foundation.
The Northwest Food Processors Association
NWFPA represents the $17 billion Northwest food processing industry, which employs over 100,000 people in Washington, Idaho and Oregon. Organized in 1914 as a canners association, represents the interests of food processors in Washington, Idaho and Oregon, NWFPA is headquartered in Portland, Oregon and has more than 450 member companies including 86 food processors with nearly 200 production facilities throughout the Northwest region. Through the partnership with NWFPA, the Center is able to provide and support training and curriculum that meets their current skilled workforce needs.
The Center for the Advancement of Process Technology
The Center for the Advancement of Process Technology located in Houston Texas, is a one of the 26 nationwide ATE Centers (Advanced Technology Education) designated by National Science Foundation (NSF) to meet the skilled workforce needs of business and industry. ATE program focuses on the education of technicians for the high-demand technology fields that drive our nation's economy. The program involves partnerships between academic institutions and employers to promote improvement in the education of science and engineering technicians at the undergraduate and secondary school levels.
CAPT is committed to preparing a quality 21st century technical workforce that drives the operations for the major energy, chemical, and oil and gas producers through curriculum development, faculty development, building access, capacity and self-sufficiency by sharing related to process technology education. CAPT also hosts conferences, classes and workshops that support faculty and administrators from technical and community colleges. CAPT works in collaboration with regional alliances of education and industry to meet commitments to process technology education.

The Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society
Founded in 1945, ISA is a leading, global, nonprofit organization that is setting the standard for automation by helping over 30,000 worldwide members and other professionals solve difficult technical problems, while enhancing their leadership and personal career capabilities. Based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, ISA develops standards; certifies industry professionals; provides education and training; publishes books and technical articles; and hosts the largest conference and exhibition for automation professionals in the Western Hemisphere.
ISA Student Chapter at BTC
BTC students and faculty are very active participants in the ISA Student Chapter at BTC. This allows them to access the educational and training resources through the ISA organization; network with other student chapters through put the world and find jobs. The student chapter hosts annual Vendor Show, invites subject matter experts and vendor specialist to their classroom, arranges field trips to member industry plants and receives equipment donations for the labs and scholarships.
Industrial Instrumentation & Controls Technology Alliance
The IICTA is an organization of the Instrumentation & Controls Technology education providers and their business, industry, and community advisors cooperatively working toward their common goals.

The Center is sponsored by the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges and collaborates regularly with the 11 other Centers of Excellence.
Northwest Workforce Development Council
The Center supports the network of technical and community colleges in Washington State in providing quality process and control technology training for their students and the best possible workforce for the processing industries in their area. |
